Recently discovered vulnerabilities involving processor chips, referred to as Meltdown and Spectre, have precipitated emergency security patches from Microsoft. An alert issued by US-CERT states that they are “not aware of any known exploitations at this time,” but Microsoft has proactively issued a patch to address the vulnerability.
Although the patch will be available automatically through Windows updates, additional steps may be required to ensure compatibility with your endpoint security product. Please consult your security provider's website for details on the steps required to enable the Windows update.
